The more you engage with OAKR, the better our system gets, providing recommendations about spirits you like, and giving users more insights into why they like a certain spirit. OAKR is a free tool for any bourbon lover to use. Create your free account to get access to all our spirits data, and begin customizing your platform for your own specific tastes. If you’re brand new, start with our welcome to OAKR guide for the full overview.
Users will login and land on their own dashboard. Here you get updated recommendations on spirits to try, based on your favorite bourbons you’ve added to your profile. Learn more about how OAKR’s recommendation algorithm works.
Search for any bourbon in our growing catalog, and click into the spirit profile page to learn more and include it in your sommelier’s learning algorithm. Try exploring the Buffalo Trace spirit profile to see the full depth of data available. Once added to your account, you’ll be recommended new spirits to explore based on what you like, and the flavors they contain.
All spirits listed on OAKR are graded and categorized across 10 primary categories. OAKR collects data from blind tastings and the companies and distilleries who blend and produce them. Detailed flavor notes are graded based on intensity, and aggregate into each of the 10 points on the spirit profile chart.
Users can add spirits to their favorite list, by clicking the “Actions” button, or clicking right on the spirit profile chart. Users can then say what they REALLY like about a spirit. Did you love how boozy and earthy it is? Submit your info to OAKR and your algorithm takes into account your preferences, which customize your own personalized flavor profile.
Within actions, users can favorite a bourbon to add it to their profile, but it doesn’t stop there. Dislike bourbons to further change your profile, add your own custom review for the community at large, or keep your own private spirit notes if your palate differs from the data seen in OAKR. Whether a bourbon connoisseur or a casual drinker, you get all the tools you need to dive into your taste preferences.
Users can create lists to further organize your favorites. Love a high rye bourbon for cocktails? Add it to a new list so you don’t forget it. Or collecting a wish list of things to try? Add it in OAKR and you can keep a full diary of your bourbon exploration.
Search for others on OAKR and see what the spirits community is up to. You can find and follow friends, see what bourbons they like or are interested in, and follow distilleries for events, product updates and more.
